A Note From Norma
I've spent most of my life working in social services, helping and advocating for people who need someone in their corner. I've always had a special place in my heart for children and older adults, and caring for others has become a big part of who I am.
But caregiving became personal for me when I cared for my own husband through significant health needs. I know what it feels like to love someone who needs a great deal of care. I know the exhaustion, the worry, the difficult decisions, and the feeling that you always need to be watching and making sure your loved one is okay.
That experience is a big part of how I care for families at Blue Mountain today.
When someone comes into my home, I don't just see a resident. I see someone's mom, dad, husband, wife, or loved one. And I know their family is trusting me with someone incredibly important to them.
I believe strongly in communication. If something changes, I want the family to know. If I believe a resident needs something, I will speak up. I ask questions, make the phone calls, and advocate for the people in my care. If you're in my home, I'm in your corner.
My goal is for families to feel that they don't have to carry everything by themselves anymore. We're here to help with the care, but we're also here to be someone you can trust through a very difficult chapter of life.
